Frontman/songwriter F. Alex Johnson started the band in the winter of 2012 after taking a five-year hiatus from recording. Formerly lead guitarist and co-founder of the Northampton, Mass. roots-rockers Drunk Stuntmen, he left the band in 2008, but never stopped writing, practicing and performing. Since 2004, Alex has been busy touring at home and abroad as the guitarist with senior sensations The Young@Heart Chorus. But his passion for telling his own stories with their own musical hues led him to assemble Colorway.

Mark Schwaber is a veteran of the Western Massachusetts indie-rock music scene. He’s toured worldwide as part of the Lloyd Cole Small Ensemble, has performed with numerous bands from Hospital to The Swell Season to Spouse. Currently recording a new record with Joel Stroetzel (Killswitch Engage), Mark has recently returned triumphant from an East Coast tour performing solo for audiences for the first time in a number of years. Mark’s thoughtful and unique acoustic guitar arrangements support his soul-bearing introspective lyrics. His songs are gorgeous investigations into the human condition.
