John Brodeur’s “Bird Streets crafts songs that are bright, optimistic and poppy without overdoing it. The hooks are infectious and the vibes are right in the pocket. Listen to just one song and you’ll find yourself humming along for the rest of the day.” -NPR Music. John is performing solo for this show.

Quietly epic indie-folk piano songs from Western Massachusetts. Matthew is the coordinator of the Dark Dining Room series. Playing solo (piano) for this show.

Matthew Larsen has been a member of the vibrant Western Massachusetts music scene for a few decades, attracting audiences with introspective piano rock songs. Sometimes short, quiet and sweet, and other times building into wall-of-sound Hotel-California-like anthems, Matthew’s songs often recall serious health issues (Matthew underwent a stem cell transplant at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston in 2005). Greg Saulmon, Alex Peterson and a rotating cast of supporting musicians join Matthew on stage to contribute multi-part harmonies and quiet percussion.
